Half Decks

The fore and aft half decks were almost entirely utilized as berthing, washroom and mess spaces for junior and warrant officers up front and chefs on the stern deck.  The forward deck is largely intact with much of the original furnishings, but unrestored.  The aft half deck was not visited, but is likely unrestored and empty.  There are special surprises in the forward deck photos.  Note the fireplace painted on the bulkhead in the warrant officer's mess.  The other photos were taken in a stateroom that still contains mementoes from a previous occupant.
