U.S.S. TEXAS - BB35

Hold Deck

This is the lowest level on the ship that is readily accessible.  Many of the spaces on this level are used for oil or reserve water storage.  Notable exceptions are the lowest level of the engine rooms, shaft alleys, storage rooms and dynamo condenser rooms.  The extreme fore and aft portions of this level are dedicated to trimming tanks that can be flooded in order to keep the ship on a proper level.

The inner bottom is below this level, but it only contains the space between the ship's inner and outer hulls.  Much of it was used for emergency reserve water and emergency fuel oil storage.  While there are numerous bolted access hatches leading into specific areas, it is not readily accessible by crew.
