Main Deck

There is a torpedo-shaped device, called a paravane, mounted on the port side of Turret II.  The ship was originally equipped with two.  These devices were rigged with lines and towed from the bow of the ship.  Their function was to snare and cut the mooring lines of anti-shipping mines.
